Meet Christy
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, LCMHC
Hello! My name is Christy, and I am a faith-based licensed counselor. I believe that my calling is to help others thrive by giving them the honest feedback and tools they need to grow and adapt in healthy ways to all that life brings their way.
I received my counseling degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC, and have many years of experience in a wide variety of settings including clinical, hospital and pregnancy care centers as well as corporate human resources, leadership development, and behavior management. As a former personal fitness instructor, I also understand how body and soul are connected in a life of health and wholeness.
One-on-one sessions with me give you the opportunity to be heard and listened to, and to receive clinically sound, biblically based and Holy Spirit led counsel for whatever you are going through. I also enjoy facilitating small groups for counseling, personal development and ministry.
I am a devoted wife and stepmom to three boys. I have seen God’s faithfulness in my own life and desire for everyone to experience His goodness.
I look forward to working with you!

For out of network reimbursement: Most health insurance plans provide some level of out-of-network reimbursement. Ask your human resources representative or insurance company to be sure. If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with a statement of services called a “Superbill”. You can submit this to your insurance company to request reimbursement. Depending on your health insurance plan, your insurance company may reimburse you for some or all of what you’ve paid for treatment. It’s best to speak with your insurance company directly for information specific to your plan.
BCBS insurance: If you are planning to use BCBS insurance, contact your BCBS insurance provider to confirm you are in network and whether a deductible or copay is required at time of service.

First, recognize it’s completely normal to have many questions about the therapy process and that each fit and relationship between counselor and client is unique. The goal is to create a space where you feel heard and understood, so we can determine an overall assessment and goal of therapy. In order to do this, I will ask questions to better understand more detailed information about your background, history and together agree upon goals of growth for our time together in therapy.
-
Not at this time. More time has been dedicated to cover questions, background, fit and goals during our first intake session which has worked really well with new clients.
-
In the beginning of treatment, new clients would benefit in the first month from weekly or every other week sessions.
-
It's an opportunity to partner with perspective in an objective way. Family and friends can be supportive, as well mentors and leaders in your life. A trained and experienced counseling professional cares about listening to your story and can help you process an area of growth or an area of “feeling stuck”so you can move forward in an intentionally healthier way.
-
Counseling progress isn’t measured by instant growth & instant results….like we are tempted to expect.
Growth is a process and everyone’s story is unique. We can determine goals and a focus, however intentionality takes time to develop real and sustainable change, yet it is possible. During the course of therapy, we do check in’s to see where growth has been made and track if we are still focusing on the right goals for treatment, which provides encouragement and hope!
